GRS Wins Murphy Sustainability Supply Chain Partner of the Year Award

24 November 2025

GRS is proud to have been named Environmental Sustainability Supply Chain Partner of the Year at the 2025 Murphy Supplier Awards for the second year running.

For decades, sustainability has been central to how we operate at GRS, with a strong focus on resource recovery, circularity and carbon-efficient transport. In recent years, this has evolved even further, aligned with globally recognised ESG principles and GRS’s ‘Planet, People, Practices’ framework. Our strategic approach supports eight UN Sustainable Development Goals and reinforces our vision: To be the driving force behind a circular economy in construction – zero waste, zero carbon.

To further this, we have recently developed a company-wide roadmap to Net Zero, outlining short, medium and long-term decarbonisation initiatives. We also now have the capability to generate customer, project, or material-specific carbon footprint reports covering GRS Trading and RSS deliveries.

We will continue to utilise our end-to-end freight solutions that minimise material handling and empty miles, while maximising lower-carbon rail and marine transport, taking us forward to achieving our ambitious targets of being net zero by 2040 for Scope 1 and 2, and by 2050 for Scope 3.

We’re proud to be working with Murphy on the Yorkshire Green project, where we are supplying 350,000 tonnes of aggregates to the National Grid scheme, alongside supplying material to Lower Thames Crossing and many other projects across the country. We’re pleased that our efforts with sustainability have been recognised by Murphy to help us achieve this award.
